Services available to Government Organizations
Building Department being a
Service Department of the Government of Sri Lanka is
authorized to undertake planning, designing, implementation
and maintenance of building projects funded through the
Consolidate Fund. The Department of Buildings is in possession
of an in-house professionals comprising of Architects,
Engineers (Civil and Electrical) and technical support staff
to accommodate such services.
There are three distinct types of services available to
clients.
Service Type - S 1:-
Preparation of Project Proposals:-
At request, Buildings Department will prepare Project Briefs,
feasibility reports, cost estimates and any other technical
information for clients to pursue project approvals and obtain
financial allocations.
Services Type - S 2:-
Design and Build by the Department:-
Client allocates funds to Building Department and then
Building Department will design, execute the construction and
hand over to the client.
Services Type - S 3:-
Project Management by the Department:-
Building Department will attend to all technical aspects of
the building project including planning, design, preparation
of Tender documents on behalf of client, carry out
construction supervision.
